Later, the animals also get into a fight with a scary group of hyenas.Īside from my issues with the violent scenes and language throughout - including lots of name-calling, the music and writing is nothing special. (The audience is shown his thoughts - again violent) The audience is also shown the father's death scene again in a flashback sequence - like kids need to see that again. He also plots to kill the animals who want to try to deal with humans peacefully. Some want to move or solve the problem peacefully while an angry monkey calls for "War!" over and over again, repeatedly pulling out guns and speaking of slaughtering humans while he does so. The animals must then decide what to do as their home is being destroyed. This scene is really exploited - close up on gun being loaded and discharged as father is hit in slow motion. Once surrounded, a human emerges and fatally shoots the father as he throws his son to safety. *** SPOILER*** In the opening scenes scary construction equipment made to look like monsters chase down a father cheetah and his son.

While the overall message about protecting the habitat of animals is a good one, I was disturbed by the violence in this film.
